Horrible hotel. People live there. Hotel description is not accurate at all. Thankfully we were able to get out of booking the room. Totally unsafe area. The only thing good was the attendant at the desk.

The room was adequate for our needs and was a moderate price. It included a refrigerator and a coffee station. The bed and pillows were fairly comfortable. Unfortunately, we heard a LOT of noise from the hallway and from above us. We were surprised to not have a vanity. The breakfast had protein rich scrambled eggs, sausage, fresh waffles, and a variety of breads, fruits, yogurt and juices. The hot coffee was rich and full flavored. We left satiated.

I used to live in "The Sault" and I always enjoy going back.
I used to live in "The Sault" and I always enjoy going back. It's beautiful, laid back, the people are friendly, and it's always just a nice place to find peace. If you like history it has some of the oldest buildings in the US. It's one of the oldest towns in the US, starting out as a trading settlement. There is a Native American center with cultural and historical information about the local Anishinaabe. The area is part of the historical Ojibewe and Algonquin territories. It's also close to other historical sites and many amazing nature parks. And Lake Superior is it's own special kind of amazing. Also, this may sound weird to some people but it has some of the most drinkable water you will ever find strait from the tap. Definitely recommend renting a car to take full advantage of the area.

Enjoyed my time there; go to ORIGINAL SOO LOCKS TOUR; I believe it is better than their competitor; based on seeing what I saw of both tours. Our tour was guided by Mr/Mrs. Captain who may retire shortly.

Hotel Ojibway is right next to the Soo Locks and makes it easy to park and walk everywhere. Be sure to go to the Observation Tower several blocks away for an amazing 360 degree view of the locks area. It is fun to see the big ships. We also enjoyed the Crepe restaurant for breakfast. Go online to see the expected time the ships will pass through the locks.

This is our second stay since 2020. Fair rates and no surprise fees like some chain hotels. Friendly staff. This appears to be a very old building, but the room was always very clean and basically everything worked. Easy location for access. They have some amenities in a central room, but I didn’t use them. Never had any bugs in the room, like I have at several higher end hotels. Housekeeping does a great job here. Electric baseboard heaters are straightforward and quiet which is nice.
it wasn't what we expected, having said that it was just fine. Really dated we said to ourselves "if only these old walls could talk, the tales they could tell" The main st. bars and restaurants were fun. Would never recommend the restaurant just a few steps from the hotel I think it was then Lock View or something like that down right nasty.
I enjoyed spending a couple of hours watching the works of then locks. Very interesting to us.
Usually we stay at hotels that include breakfast--this motel doesn't do so. But the price is so much less that we saved about $50 per night even after getting a nice breakfast at a nearby restaurant. Also, the grounds have beautifully maintained gardens that offer the chance to sit in a gazebo near a fountain and really relax. I'm SO GLAD we decided to stay here!
The hotel is VERY central, as well has a lot of history Our room was very dated, however it was clean. We rented a jacuzzi suite and the tub ran great!!!
The hotel restaurant/bar was closed, which was unfortunate. All and all, it was a mid-par stay. Maybe not worth the money, but the location made up for it!
This is a classic old brick hotel in a great location. It's about the best/closest to the locks and to the downtown and shops of Sault Ste Marie (US side). In addition to the Soo Locks and downtown, we went to the highly recommended Museum Valley Camp (a .9 mile walk or a short drive away).
The hotel was great, the room was large , wonderful king bed, quiet. Loved the bathtub that had pump bottles attached to wall of bathtub with shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. The continental breakfast was great also. would come back again.
Your staff was excellent. They were very helpful. I would definite book with you at any other occasion that I am in Sault Ste. Marie. The Breakfast was also better then most free breakfast at other hotels.
The staff were friendly and the rooms were clean. We enjoyed the breakfast they provided in the morning. The hotel is a short drive away from the locks and downtown.
Hotel was clean, and overall a great value for the price. Rooms were large and beds were quite comfortable. Breakfast options were small, but adequate.
